FIST Africa in partnership with a number of faith-based organisations carried out a social impact project in Gishiri community, a rural settlement in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The group, which comprises of FIST Africa of The Finishing Church, People of Influence, Ekklesia Hills, Adopt a Community, etc, provided food items, sanitary wares and toiletries for about 4,000 women and men in the community. The package also included a cash gift of N1,000 each.
Gishiri community is one of the most popular underserved communities in Abuja, where there’s very little presence of government even though it’s located near the city centre. The area, which is known for all sorts of criminalities, lacks essential amenities, a situation that has been reported in the media severally.
The social impact project reached 2,500 women with food items, sanitary wares and a cash gift. It also reached 1,500 men with food items, toiletries, and a cash gift as well.
The community head that received the team, expressed his gratitude on behalf of the community for the gesture.
